How to Update Address in Aadhaar Card Online for Free

The Aadhaar card is used as identification and residency evidence. Individuals can obtain and print their E-Aadhaar cards from UIDAI’s official website after the enrollment procedure is complete. Your e-Aadhaar, a password-protected electronic version of your Aadhaar that has been digitally signed by a UIDAI official, is a copy of your Aadhaar. This electronic copy is as valid as the physical copy of the Aadhaar as per the Aadhaar Act.

There can be many reasons to change your address in Aadhaar, such as relocating, spelling, or pincode errors. Although demographic and biometric details can only be updated at Aadhaar registered centres, you can update only your address online without visiting any centre. Fee For Aadhaar Card Update

There is no fee for Aadhaar card update online on the myAadhaar portal till 14 June 2024. However, this update facility is not free if you do it offline at a physical Aadhaar centre. You will have to pay a fee of Rs.50 when you update your documents for your Aadhaar card at Aadhaar centres.

After 14 June 2024, you will have to pay a fee of Rs.25 to update your Aadhaar card documents online on the myAadhaar portal.

  1. Open myAadhar Portal. You can find all the official website details of Aadhar card here.
  2. Login to myAadhaar portal by entering your Aadhaar number, captcha code and OTP.

3. Select the option ‘Document Update’ tab.

4. Click on ‘Click to submit’ button.

5. Click on ‘Next’ on Objective of Document Update Service page.

6. Verify the demographic details and select ‘I verify that the above details are correct.’ and click on ‘Next’.

7. In the upload page read the guidelines for uploading the documents.

8. Document size should be less than 2 MB and Supported file Formats are: JPEG, PNG and PDF.

9. Upload proof of identity in identity document section.

10. Upload proof of address in address document section.

11. Select the consent ‘I hereby give my consent that the information/documents provided/uploaded by me may be subjected to verification at any stage by the Government.’ and click on ‘Next’.

12. Check the submitted details once again and click on ‘Submit’

13. You will receive a ‘Service Request Number (SRN)’ in your email. You can track your document update status from the SRN.
